17th Month - Week 2

This week's theme was Easter. We dyed Easter eggs and had an egg hunt at our house with Jackson's playgroup. We also glued cotton balls on a bunny. All of our books were about bunnies. The Easter Egg by Jan Brett has great illustrations! Of course, Peter Rabbit is always a favorite.

We went for a train ride with the Easter Bunny and Henry, Bennett, Travis and Amelia at the NC Transportation Museum. Jackson is waving bye-bye to the train.

Jackson hunted eggs with Lillie at Rural Hill Farm. There were many more kids than they expected. Jackson found 6 eggs but we shared them with children that did not find any. Jackson also argued with a little girl over a cow. She kept saying "moo" and he kept saying "dog."

After church on Sunday, we went to Asher's house for lunch. The Easter Bunny brought Jackson some DVDs for the car, play dough, sidewalk chalk and The Hungry Caterpillar.

17th Month - Week 1

This week's theme was cows. We went to Ben and Jerry's for free ice cream cone day. Jackson got his very own cone for the first time.

He also got to paint his cow with chocolate pudding. He ate the pudding once he finished painting.

I also had Jackson start chores. He had to clean all the pollen out of his wagon.

We also went to Lillie's first birthday. The theme was The Hungry Caterpillar. I think Jackson must have been the caterpillar. He certainly was the life of the party.

16th Month Week 4

The new baby is 14 weeks along now and I have found some of the energy that I was missing in the first 3 months. So, I have made a schedule for Jackson. We are going to talk about a new theme, number, letter, shape/color each week. We have a playgroup outing to go along with each topic. I am hoping all this will help me learn a few more words, and maybe if he sees a cow, he will not call it a dog.

Jackson understands quite a bit now but just does not say much. He goes to the fridge when wants a drink. He gets his snacks off the bottom shelf of the pantry. When I ask him to brush his teeth, he goes to the bathroom.

He loved climbing! He climbs up in chairs by himself. He loves playing on the slide at the playground. We are trying to teach him to not climb back up the slide but to go up the stairs again.
